Common questions

How do I bring my books over from Goodreads?

Goodreads offers its export only on its website. On a computer, sign in at goodreads.com, open My Books, choose Import and export under Tools, then Export Library. In Ajar, open Library, choose Import from Goodreads, then Get a code, and enter the code with the file at ajarreads.com/import. If the file is already on your iPhone, choose it in the app instead.

Who can see my reviews?

You choose for each review: Public, Friends or Only me. Shelves have their own choice, and so does your reading, meaning what you're reading and how many books you've read. Private notes are only ever yours. To change a review's audience, open the book, then edit your review.

My sign-in code hasn't arrived

Check your spam folder. Codes work for 10 minutes, and you can ask for a few each hour. Signing in with Apple doesn't need a code.

How do I report a review or block someone?

Open the menu on the review, profile or shelf, then choose Report or Block. Our community guidelines explain what isn't allowed.

A book's details or cover are wrong

Open the book in Ajar and choose Report a problem.

How do I manage Ajar Plus?

Subscriptions go through the App Store: on your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. To restore a purchase on a new phone, use Restore purchases in the app.

How do I delete my account?

See deleting your account.

The fine print

Ajar is a reading tracker where you choose who sees each review: everyone, your friends, or only you. Reviews here are the ones their readers made public.
